Community Service
In the 2001 movie Pearl Harbor, Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle said, “There’s nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer.” At Lakeland Christian School, this heart for service beats strongly in our students. They have been blessed with an abundance of gifts which they put to use both on the Lakeland Christian campus and in the community.
Lakeland Christian School students balance their course loads along with extracurricular activities such as music and athletics. For many students, this balance also includes reaching out to others in the community. Whether through a school-sponsored organization, with their church or on their own, LCS students recognize the importance of being a light to the world.
LCS does not have a community service requirement to graduate, but it is often a requirement for scholarships. The college admissions process also considers a student’s community service. Beginning after 8th grade, students can record community service hours for their high school transcripts. Students should document their hours and submit the forms to Mrs. Lynn Pruim in the Secondary Office.
The Guidance Office provides a list of current and ongoing community service opportunities, which you can find by clicking the links below. The required form is also provided here.
