On Wednesday, November 14, two Lakeland Christian School baseball players signed letters of intent to play at the Division I college level.
Outfield Grant McKown, the son of Karen McKown and Duane McKown, will play for Florida Tech in Melbourne next year. As a junior, he batted .508 with two home runs and 18 RBIs.
Infielder Rafael Bournigal will play at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Last year, he batted .407 with 28 RBIs for the Vikings. Raffi is the son of Rafael and Brenda Bournigal.

Friday night (November 9) is Senior Night in Viking Stadium as LCS hosts cross-town rival Santa Fe at 7 PM. Come out and celebrate senior members of the football team, cheerleading squad and band. Football players will be recognized in a pre-game celebration, and cheerleaders and pep band members will be recognized at halftime. A “Black-Out Night” is returning to Viking Stadium for this week’s game against the Hawks. All fans are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing their black Viking apparel. To celebrate the occasion, a limited number of special “Black-Out Night” t-shirts are now on sale in the Athletic Office for $10.00 each. Be sure to get one while supplies last!

The Viking varsity football team will host Shorecrest Prep at 7 PM on Friday, October 26, and we will be celebrating Public Safety Appreciation Night in Viking Stadium. Please invite any police officers, firefighters, paramedics/EMTs and sheriff’s deputies for the event. Anyone in a uniform or official department shirt will receive free admission and will be honored during the game. The first 500 elementary students through the gate will receive red fire hats, and adults will receive American flags while supplies last. Don’t forget about all of the fan plaza activities: Smoothie King, Kettle Korn, amazing concessions, the Viking Spirit Shoppe and Snowie Ice. Tickets are on sale now in the Athletic Office!
Don’t forget! The varsity football team will host Cardinal Mooney tonight in Viking Stadium. Please note the special game time of 6 PM! This is the Vikings’ first district game of the season. Halftime festivities will include a performance by the junior cheerleaders and the flag football jamboree.

Lakeland Christian School will hold the annual Homecoming festivities at the varsity football game on Friday night (9/28) as the Vikings host Lake Placid High School at 7 PM. Come out and watch the new 2012 homecoming royalty be crowned during halftime of the game.
