Choral Music (K-5)
Choral Music (K-5)
The Lakeland Christian School secondary choral programs have grown significantly in the past few years. Students in sixth through twelfth grades may participate in the following choirs:
- Sixth grade students are given the opportunity to choose Chorus as one of their electives. During the year, these students learn proper vocal techniques as well as part-singing and sight-reading skills. Students perform in the ACSI vocal festival, the school Christmas concert, chapel programs and Spring Concert.
- The Junior High Choir is available to students in seventh and eighth grades. Students learn basic fundamentals of good singing while studying literature appropriate for maturing voices. Students are given the opportunity to perform at school and in the community as well as participate in FVA and ACSI festivals.
- Concert Choir is available for high school students. Students develop basic musicianship skills, including choral performance techniques, vocal tone production, music literacy and music appreciation. Concert Choir members perform at school, in the community, and at Epcot's Disney World Candlelight Processional. They also participate in FVA and ACSI vocal festivals each year.
- Members of the Concert Choir may also audition to be part of the LCS Ensemble. With a history of more than 25 years of ministry, the LCS Ensemble seeks to present a fresh expression of the Gospel in song. These students demonstrate a love for the Lord and a love for music ministry. They minister at LCS, travel to churches in the Lakeland area from February - May, and perform at various venues throughout the community.
