Wrapping up the 2009 season with a record of 17-6, the girls' softball team clinched the District Championship in 2009.  Coach Rand Reese will return to lead the 2010 team to another title.

Baseball

The varsity baseball team finished the 2009 season with a 16-12 record and will look to improve even more in 2010.

Tennis

Girls - The Viking girls' tennis team made a strong showing in tournament play in 2009, but will look to clinch a District Championship in 2010.

Boys - Claiming fourth place in the county tournament, the boys' tennis team ended the 2009 season with a 4th place finish in the District tournament. Coach Cliff Coleman will lead the team as they look to improve in 2010.

Track & Field

The track team has seen its share of success throughout the history of LCS.  The 2009 season was no exception.  Eleven athletes qualified for State, where they placed in six different events. Freshman Mallory White's third place finish in the 800-meter run led the girls' team to a 17th place overall finish in the State Championship meet.

Weightlifting

There is a new face on the LCS spring sports line up. Coach Bobby Dan McGlohorn implemented a brand new Viking Varsity weightlifting team in 2009.  While the other spring athletes take the competition outside, the boys' weightlifting team will be putting their strength to the test in the weightroom.  In its inaugural season, the team competed in five meets during the month of March, earning first place in two of the meets.  These heavy lifters will look to improve in 2010.
