Basketball

Girls - With a 23-5 record and a fourth straight District title in the 07-08 season, the girl's varsity basketball team is still a force to be reckoned with.  Under the leadership of Coach Keith Overholt, the team advanced to the Regional Final.  Ashley Wilson was named the FACA 2A District 12 Player of the Year, and Coach "O" was named the FACA 2A District 12 Coach of the Year.

Boys - With one of the premier facilities in Polk County, the boys’ basketball team had a rebuilding year for the 2007-08 season ending the season with an 8-16 record.  

 

Soccer

Girls - Winning their eleventh straight District Championship during the 2007-2008 season, the girls' varsity soccer team finished the season with a record of 17-5-3.  Senior Candice White was named the FACA 2A District 12 Player of the Year.

Boys -   LCS alum Grandy Streets took over the reins of the boys varsity soccer team for long-time head coach Dean Johnson.  Coach Streets led theViking soccer program to another District championship and advanced to the Regional Final.  They ended the 2007-08 season with a 14-6-1 record.

 

Cheerleading

Anyone who doubts that cheerleading is a sport should watch the LCS cheerleaders as they cheer on the football and basketball teams. These girls combine strength, coordination, and athleticism with cheerfulness and school spirit.
