Lakeland Christian School

One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.

WHAT LED YOU TO LAKELAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?

The Holy Spirit! LOL … The story goes…my husband’s job brought us to Lakeland at the time our oldest child was ready for Kindergarten in 1996.  LCS was highly recommended for a “Christian education” (which was the only option as far as we were concerned!), so we enrolled him here, and I began volunteering.  When our youngest kiddo entered kindergarten I began working with “After School Supervision,” and I began substitute teaching. When I was recommended for the Study Hall position, I excitedly accepted and I worked in the Study Hall for many years before being approached about joining the Secondary Office team (where I am today!). ;-D

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO do IN YOUR LCS Job?

My favorite thing about my position(s) at LCS has always been working with this wonderful family of families and my interactions with the students – since I’m still so young at heart and often think I’m one of them…ha!

WHAT IS ONE FUN FACT THAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

My major in college was German. I lived in Salzburg, Austria for 4 years, and due to my speaking fluent German… I worked aboard the M/S Sagafjord (Cunard Line) as an officer for 2 ½ years. I had the opportunity to work three world cruises, seeing much of the world! I also worked on the Sea Goddess II (also Cunard Line) for a short time sailing the Mediterranean.

P.S. Being very much a people person… I also love to make my own cards!
