Lakeland Christian School

One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.

WHAT LED YOU TO LAKELAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?

The Lord changed my life plans, truly. As I was finally settling in to my new life in Indiana, the idea of moving to Florida came up. My mom was the tennis coach for Southeastern and met Debbie Stump, third grade teacher and tennis coach, on the court and spoke of trying to get me to move down to Florida. I avoided the thought of it until hearing from Mrs. O’ Byrne and Mrs. Rhoden during the weeks following and about a month later, I spent many hours on campus during my spring break visit and fell in love. I am so thankful the Lord stirred my heart to move across the country to be a teacher at LCS.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO IN YOUR LCS JOB?

My favorite subject to teach is Math. I love being able to implement manipulatives and projects into my class (especially when the manipulatives get to be food). We did a ratio activity last year involving fruit loops and it was so much fun, even future LCS families taking tours of the classroom got to enjoy this treat!
