Lakeland Christian School
One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.WHAT LED YOU TO LAKELAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?
I stayed home (from teaching) for a few years with my kids until they were in kindergarten. When my daughter started kindergarten, we brought her here to LCS and she had Corrie Williams as a teacher. Our daughter was here for first grade as well before I decided to homeschool her until fourth grade (which was a great blessing). I homeschooled my son as well (for one year) but then, after a few years, my husband and I decided it would be beneficial for me to start looking for a teaching job. I was really looking forward to teaching kids again when Luci O’Byrne called me and asked me how I felt about teaching K4! I was so excited! That was 11 years ago and I have enjoyed every minute of it!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR LCS JOB?
My favorite thing about teaching at LCS is working with a team full of awesome, God-loving ladies each day in K4!!! I also love the family atmosphere and all the staff here at LCS! The leadership is awesome at LCS too!
WHAT ARE SOME FUN FACTS THAT MOST PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU?
One may be that… I was on a water skiing team (for years in college) and we were in a movie at Disney! Also, I grew up with all boys so I was quite the tomboy and adventure seeker!
