Lakeland Christian School

One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.

WHAT LED YOU TO LAKELAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?

My husband was transferred to Florida in 2005. We wanted to continue the education of our children in a Christian School. That led me to Lakeland Christian where I found an opening in the Music Dept. I applied and was hired that same year.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO TEACH IN YOUR CLASS?

While I love to teach Spanish and help students in their communication and grammar skills, the AP Music Theory course allows for getting into the depths of music composition, analysis and aural training.

WHAT IS ONE FUN FACT THAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

My teaching resume includes band (5-12), elementary music, middle school choir, high school choir, show choir, pit orchestra conductor, musical director, play director, private piano, class piano, composition, AP Music Theory, Spanish, Algebra, Consumer Math, and typing.
