Lakeland Christian School

One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.

WHAT LED YOU TO LAKELAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?

During the spring of 2018 my husband, Riley Burr, heard that LCS was looking for an elementary art teacher. He applied, interviewed, and was offered the position. So we packed up and moved to Lakeland that summer from Missouri. After moving, I was actively looking for a full-time job in the Lakeland area. The para position in the discovery program was open and I started working with my awesome team that fall. We have been so blessed to be apart of the LCS family.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO TEACH IN YOUR CLASS?

I love getting to know each of our students individually. I have learned so much in the first year working with these kids. I love going to inclusion and specials and watching them play, laugh, learn, and build relationships with their classmates.

WHAT IS ONE FUN FACT THAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

I lived most of my childhood in Brussels, Belgium where my parents were missionaries. We moved there when I was two years old and moved back my freshman year of high school.
