Lakeland Christian School

One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.

WHAT LED YOU TO LAKELAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?

My husband was already working at Lakeland Christian and I fell in love with the community here even though I was just the “Athletic Trainer’s Wife.” I worked in college admissions and would visit Lakeland Christian and stay in touch with Christy Lee. When I had my first child, I stepped away from the college admissions world because of the hours, and God opened a door and the following year LCS was hiring the new College and Career Advisor position. It felt meant to be for our family!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO TEACH IN YOUR CLASS?

I don’t really have a class, but my favorite thing about my job is seeing the excitement when a student is accepted to their top choice college! I also love the relationships I build with the seniors especially.

WHAT IS ONE FUN FACT THAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

In college I was a first time freshman, then a transfer student, and then an international student. I did it all! I saw both the large state university setting and the small private college setting and when I turned 21 I had to become an international student on my own visa as I was from England. It was a whirlwind, but I loved every minute.
