Lakeland Christian School

One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.

WHAT LED YOU TO LAKELAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?

I moved to Florida when Ben (LCS Class of 1999), and I got married in 2004. He was a lifer, and his dad Dean Johnson was an administrator, so I was familiar with the school.

In early 2005, LCS was starting to prepare for the Deliver the Dream capital campaign to build Viking Stadium and the EL/MS building. The school needed to create a position to take some of the marketing work off of (then-Director of Advancement) Steve Wilson’s plate, so he could focus on fundraising. I started as the Communication Specialist in August of 2005, and later became the Director of Marketing & Communications.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR LCS JOB?

I love graphic design — making sure everything looks attractive and also consistent with our brand. I also like promoting the school on social media.

WHAT ARE SOME FUN FACTS THAT MOST PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU?

  • I grew up in northern Indiana, so I’m a huge fan of Notre Dame football.
  • I love the beach.
