Lakeland Christian School

One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.

WHAT LED YOU TO LAKELAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?

My husband was in a Sunday school class taught by Dr. Sligh at about the time our oldest daughter was to begin sixth grade. Dr. Sligh was sharing the value of an education from a Christian School. That very Sunday my husband made the decision to send both our girls to LCS.  I also applied to work in K4 and the girls and I had our first day at LCS together.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO TEACH IN YOUR CLASS?

My favorite thing to teach K4 students is anything arts and crafts. In today’s technological world, it’s wonderful to see imaginations enjoyed.

WHAT IS ONE FUN FACT THAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

Before I had children, I owned and operated a custom picture framing shop. I enjoyed the work and being creative, but I prefer working with kids. I’m grateful the Lord led my family to LCS.
