Lakeland Christian SchoolOne of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.
WHAT LED YOU TO LAKELAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?
The Lord! For the past five years, I have managed food service in assisted living communities; although rewarding, I spent a lot of time away from my family and missing events due to working weekends and holidays. I put it in God’s hands that if I were meant to move on, he would show me the way. About two months after surrendering, the post for the LCS food service director popped up on my news feed. That moment I knew that LCS is where God was calling me to.
This job is an answer to many prayers over the past few years! I am so grateful for this opportunity and to be a part of the LCS family and so excited for my son to become a Viking next fall!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO IN YOUR LCS JOB?
My favorite part of working at LCS is being a part of the mission and being surrounded by a Christian family. Especially with my staff in the cafeteria, seeing how they love the Lord is encouraging to me as a “young” Christian. Also, seeing the students passionate about Christ at such a young age is incredible.
WHAT MAKES LAKELAND SPECIAL?
To me, Lakeland is unique because there is something for everyone here. My husband and I moved from central PA with his family six years ago, and it was a bit of a culture shock to us, but we have grown to love Lakeland and all it has to offer. Our favorite activities would be walking the lakes and downtown. Also, the great running community that Lakeland has, we do most of the races held here in Lakeland.
