Would you purchase a house without walking through it and having a thorough inspection done first? Would you buy a car without ever driving it or even just taking a peek inside? Girls, I know you’d never buy a wedding dress without twirling in front of the big dressing room mirror first! When you’re making a big investment – like a house, a car, a wedding dress, or the Christian education of your children – we want you to get a good, firsthand look at what you’re investing in. We want you to come inside, take a look around. Maybe “kick the tires” a little bit, and certainly twirl in front of the mirror to make sure that LCS is a perfect fit.

An opportunity that we offer families who are considering enrolling their child here at LCS is “student shadowing”. Prospective students come and spend a day on campus with one of our current students, giving them the opportunity to see our student community from the inside and experiencing what a typical day is like here at LCS.

Guests are greeted by someone on the Enrollment Team in the Main Office and then escorted to the appropriate office to meet their host student. Host students are chosen by our principals and include a variety of students with varying interests and involvement on campus. This provides a pool of students from which to pick in order to provide our guest with a host that has similar interests both in academics and extracurricular activities.

Our current students enjoy having guests on campus and in their classes, and do a great job of helping to communicate what LCS is all about. We often have guest students and their parents respond with very positive feedback about their shadow experience, commenting that their time was encouraging and that our students are very welcoming. It is a tremendous opportunity for our faculty to demonstrate our mission and for our students to consider the important role that they can play in recruiting new families.

If you know of families who are considering LCS, please encourage them to have their student shadow for a day. It is a wonderful opportunity for us to reach out to these families and communicate our desire to partner with them in the Christian schooling of their child.
