What are some of your favorite books? I love fiction in general and poetry—Especially Shakespeare’s sonnets.
What are your hobbies outside of school? Photography, tennis, singing, reading, cooking
What are some of the most interesting or inspiring places you’ve visited? The University of Florida when I attended the Jr. Science, Engineering and Humanities Symposium with the RISE Institute recently.
What’s your current area of research? I’m investigating the effects of neonicontinoid pesticides on Monarch butterfly larvae.
What are your favorite things about RISE? I love the aspect of independent research. The classroom environment is very different than a typical high school classroom and I appreciate the freedom and being treated more like a college student than a freshman!
When did you know RISE was a good fit for you? I think I knew RISE was a good fit for me when I saw other students excelling in their own areas of research and realized that I had untapped potential that I wanted to explore.
What are some of your favorite foods? I love fruits. My favorites are apples, oranges, raspberries and blueberries.
