Lakeland Christian School

One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.

LCS’s Smith to Howard, Williams to Campbell

Lakeland Christian had two players sign. Running back Breylin Smith signed with Howard in Washington D.C., and defensive back Idris Williams signed with Campbell.

Smith received his offer just before the start of the season, and he committed to the school in the middle of the season. He visited the campus in October.

“It’s different,” Smith said. “It’s an HBC (historically black college) school that’s trying to changed the culture and get a little more focused on us. It’s a big thing about education. They want to see me prosper on and off the field, so I’ll be good to go after football.”

Williams has been one of the top defensive backs in the county the past couple of seasons and also played running back. He said the coaching staff at Campbell was a key factor in his decision.

Campbell started recruiting him about three months ago and he took a visit two weeks ago.

“From the start, they were recruiting me really hard,” he said. “They texted me every day, so that made me want to go there.”
