Lakeland Christian School
One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities. The University of Florida’s College of Medicine and Lakeland Christian School’s Spanish Honors Society are combining efforts through the Puerto Rico Relief Fund to provide basic health, medical, and food supplies to the island’s hurricane victims.
This fundraising effort, started by current UF medical student and LCS alum Lymaries Velez (Class of 2013), has developed partnerships with local hospitals and churches to provide medications, personal hygiene products, and water filtration systems directly through these secure sources. You can help The Puerto Rico Relief fund to reach its goal of $50,000 by visiting www.youcaring.com/puertoricorelieffund.
Additionally, plans are being made by members of LCS’ Spanish Honors Society to collect non-perishable food and hygiene products for shipment to Puerto Rico in January 2018.
