One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.
In an effort to ensure the safety of our students, families and campus guests, please take note of these important traffic and parking lot guidelines:
If you have driven from S. Webster Ave. (Queen St.) to the school, you may have noticed a new traffic sign preventing through traffic and right turns during school drop off and pick up hours (7:30am – 8am & 2:30pm-3pm). For the best traffic flow, please make sure you are approaching the school from Ariana St. to the Unitah Ave. school entrance, or from Harden Ave. to Forest Part St. to the school entrance off Unitah Ave.
When entering the campus from the main parking lot, PLEASE CROSS AT THE DESIGNATED CROSSWALKS. Pedestrians should not cross traffic directly from the parking lot to the sidewalk. The crosswalk is on the west end of the lot opposite the flagpole and is staffed by our crossing guard during drop-off and pick-up times. When leaving your car in the main lot, please proceed west to the crosswalk before crossing to the sidewalk.
When in Mode 2 (Yellow) or Mode 3 (Orange), student drivers and their passengers will park in the student lot and enter the campus through the REAC where they will have their temperatures taken before moving on to campus via the stadium sidewalk.
If you park in the gravel lot on the south side of Forest Park Street by the practice field, please cross at the crosswalk adjacent to the baseball field. NOTE: In the morning, drivers heading east on Forest Park Street can sometimes be blinded by the bright sun. Crossing at the crosswalk allows drivers to anticipate where pedestrians will be crossing to enter the campus.
Please drive slowly along Forest Park Street and through the school parking lots.
You should not be on your cell phone when driving on campus.
There are no left turns onto Harden Boulevard from Forest Park Street during the times posted directly below the stop sign. Due to the traffic volumes during those times of the day, left turns are prohibited. LPD will conduct enforcement in this area throughout the year and if cited, it carries a $164 fine and three points on your license. Please be alert to this and help us prevent crashes.
Our neighbors who live on S. Webster Ave./Queen St. have asked that we remind our parents and students to obey the speed limit. There are families with small children, as well as pets, who live by the school.
Please note there are “Reserved” parking spaces both in the main lot and in the lot adjacent to the gym. These spaces were “purchased” through a significant donation at the school’s Gala Auction and are to remain available to the purchaser 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please refrain from parking in any reserved space at any time, day or night.
