LAKELAND — It wasn’t pretty, but then again, it never is when Lakeland Christian plays Windermere Prep.

The Vikings dominated the defensive-minded Lakers and managed one goal each half in their 1-0 victory on Tuesday night in the Class 3A, District 6 girls soccer championship game at Viking Stadium.
The victory gave Lakeland Christian (17-1-1) its 11 th consecutive district title. The last time Vikings didn’t win a district title was 2010 when Santa Fe Catholic upset them in the final. The victory also sends the Vikings on to the postseason where they hope to reach the final four for the 10th year in row and finally win that elusive state title.
Despite the bigger goals, the district title remains important.
