Lakeland Christian School

One of the core values of LCS is the belief that we are partnering with parents in the Christian education of their children. We believe that mutual respect, communication and involvement by all partners is essential for success of our mission.LCS is a school. We believe that being a Christian school and being a top-flight academic institution should not be mutually exclusive. On the contrary, we take the mandate of Colossians 3:23 that calls us to strive to be the best. We provide a variety of rigorous, engaging, academic and co-curricular activities that enable students to identify and express the full range of their unique gifts and abilities.

LAKELAND — Having missed three earlier scoring opportunities and finding itself tied with Melbourne Central Catholic 21-21 in the fourth quarter, Lakeland Christian running back Bo Copen made sure the Vikings didn’t miss another opportunity.

Copen’s 41-yard touchdown run with 4:08 left in the game turned out to be the game winner as the Vikings defeated Melbourne Central Catholic 28-21 in the Class 3A regional semifinals Friday night.

“I was just waiting for my O-line to produce a block for me. I saw it and ran through it and got to the end zone,” Copen said of his TD run. “I saw two (MCC) guys coming, so I let my blockers block for me and I got it to the end zone.”

With the win, LCS (9-1) moves on to next Friday’s regional championship game on an eight-game winning streak. They will be at home against Orlando First Academy, which defeated Melbourne Holy Trinity, 21-14.
