Competitive Cheer Squad Finishes Strong at National Competition

Congratulations to the Viking competition cheerleading squad on their outstanding performance at the National High School Cheerleading Championships held at Disney's Wide World of Sports on Saturday, February 11. The girls placed sixth out of 17 teams in the preliminaries which qualified the squad for the semifinal round for the first time in school history.

In the semifinals, the team placed 10th out of 17 teams and were just 1.75 points shy of making it to the finals. The squad did beat Bishop Moore, the Florida State title winner.

The Vikings compete in the medium varsity all-girl division, which is the most difficult division of the competition.
