Psalm 150:3-6: “Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet; praise him with the harp and lyre. Praise him with tambourine and dancing. Praise him with the strings and flute. Praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.”

The LCS Band program starts from the very beginning with trying out instruments and continues through to college music preparation. Students learn how to develop their God-given musical abilities and encouraged use them in their churches, community, and beyond. During their time in the band program, students learn a variety of instrumental techniques and music literacy as they develop a sincere, lasting enjoyment of music with a vision for ministry.
Our Band program includes:
- Fifth Grade Band – open to all 5th grade students
- Sixth Grade Band – consists of 6th grade students with prior band experience as well as beginners
- Middle School Band – consists of 7th and 8th grade band students

LCS Band students also participate in Polk All County Bands and the Florida All State Bands each year.
All LCS Bands perform in Christmas and Spring Concerts each year. The 7th-12th grade students combine to perform as a pep band for select football and basketball games, as well as the Lakeland Christmas Parade and in community outreach parades.
