PRIVATE PIANO
For more than 40 years, Lakeland Christian School has offered our students private piano lessons. What began with one teacher and 40 students has expanded to more than 250 students enrolled in the program.

Kindergarten and first grade students may participate in the piano lab program. In a small group setting, students learn the fundamentals of playing the piano and reading music. This course is designed to help parents determine whether their child shows an interest in learning to play the piano before investing in an instrument and private lessons.
Students in second through twelfth grade may enroll in private piano lessons and are required to have a piano or a full-size, weighted-key digital piano at home. Lessons incorporate technique and repertoire in addition to ear-training and theory.
Piano students are encouraged to use their musical gifts by playing for LCS chapels, their local churches, and other community events. They also have opportunities to participate in the Ridge Music Teachers Association events such as the Multiple Piano Festival, master classes and Student Day. Piano students conclude the year with fun-filled Spring Recitals that celebrate their hard work over the course of the year.
